How do I change the currency?

Do your trips contain tax? I don't see tax added.

Since we operate internationally, tax can be a bit complex. To avoid confusion, we have included tax in all of our prices. What you see is what you pay. We will deal with the tax.

If you require an invoice or paid receipt for your trip to claim tax we will gladly provide on request.

I've looked at other prices for ski and sails. Yours seems expensive. Why?

The biggest difference between our trips and many other ski and sail operations is the overall guest experience and the level of comfort we provide throughout the trip.

Many ski and sail boats are designed primarily for transportation and sleeping. If you look closely at interior photos from other operations, you'll often notice wide-angle lenses and empty spaces. They can look impressive online, but once you add 6 or 7 guests, ski gear, outerwear, and daily living, those spaces can quickly feel crowded and cluttered. Living space is often limited, and cabins are mainly used for sleeping.

Our operation is built around providing a premium experience both on and off the mountain. After a full day of skiing, guests can relax in the sauna, soak in the hot tub, enjoy chef-prepared meals, and unwind in comfortable common areas designed for socializing and recovery. The time spent aboard the vessel is just as important as the time spent skiing.

Another major difference is our staffing model. We operate with a Captain, Chef, Host, and two certified Mountain Guides. This structure allows every member of the team to focus on their specialty.

The Guides focus exclusively on delivering exceptional ski touring experiences. The Captain focuses on operating and managing the vessel. The Chef focuses on preparing high-quality meals. The Host ensures the guest experience runs smoothly, from maintaining common areas and guest amenities to having fresh towels ready and a cold drink waiting after a day in the mountains.

Many ski and sail operations ask their guides and captains to wear multiple hats and handle a wide range of responsibilities. We believe that having dedicated professionals in each role creates a higher-quality experience for everyone on board. Our staff-to-guest ratio is approximately 1:2, which is exceptionally rare in the industry.

As for the price, quality costs more.

Operating a ski and sail program requires a significant investment in the vessel, crew, safety systems, logistics, and highly qualified personnel. Our Captains are experienced professionals, our Chefs are talented culinary specialists, and our Mountain Guides are certified professionals with more than a decade of experience.

Yes, there are less expensive ski and sail trips available. If your priority is simply getting on a boat and skiing, there are certainly lower-cost options. However, if you value exceptional guiding, outstanding meals, attentive service, a sauna, a hot tub, comfortable accommodations, and a premium experience from the moment you step aboard until the moment you leave, we believe our trips offer exceptional value.

Can I bring my own alcohol on the boat in Norway?

Our boat is a fully licenced restaurant and bar.

We offer a selection of local craft beers, fine wines, and cocktails for purchase on board. The Norwegian liquor laws are very strict. If you have a preference of alcohol please let use know in the registration form and we can make arrangements to stock the supplies with your preferences.

What if the weather is too bad to ski?

Our Guides are experts in planning and choosing great locations to ski even if the weather is poor.

If you are on one of our ski and sail programs the boat has a hot tub, sauna, and plenty of space? During a poor weather day, there is nothing more satisfying than relaxing in the hot tub at a dock and seeing all the other ski and sail companies look at us with extreme envy 😏

What fitness level is required for your trips?

We have different skill levels on all our trips. We can accommodate almost any type of previous experience. However, for everyone to enjoy the trip to its fullest we require a certain amount of fitness, especially on the open trips.

For private trips we can customize a trip just for your needs!

Question 7

Can my 16-year-old join?

Accepted Answer

On a private trip, Yes. If your child is accompanied by you, AND you are a guardian, they can join.

Question 8

What ability do I need to join a group?

Accepted Answer

If you can ski or snowboard confidently in ANY conditions down an intermediate run at the ski hill, then you can join us. You MUST be an intermediate Skier or Snowboarder. We have 2 guides so we have the ability to split the group according to ability, fitness, and objective.

Are flights included in the price?

No. This gives you the option to source out your own deals and extend your trip to accommodate for more adventure.

What is the guide-to-guest ratio on your trips?

Accepted Answer

The guide-to-guest ratio varies by trip, but we maintain a maximum ratio of 6 guests per guide to ensure personalized attention and safety.

Question 11

Do I need to Sign a Waiver?

Accepted Answer

Yes. All guests must review and agree to the Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risk and Indemnity Agreement as a condition of participating. By signing you will waive certain legal rights, including the right to sue for negligence.

Do you provide Trip Cancellation Insurance?

We recommend partnering with our insurance provider, Global Rescue. Alternatively, we also suggest checking to see what insurance your credit card provides.

What's the accommodation like?

Accepted Answer

We do our best to find the best value accommodation that fits our needs for the trip. All accommodation is double occupancy so expect to share a space with your friend — or a new friend you make on the trip!

In Norway we usually stay at a Magic Mountain Lodge which is community focused, ski touring specific, and social. When in Tromsø, there are many hotels to stay in.

In Japan we usually stay at the Gooseberry B&B — the hosts and environment will make you feel at home. While in Sapporo we stay right downtown. If you require your own room please let us know ASAP as we will need to make this booking in advance for an additional cost.
